Group Trip
The outdoors can be an amazing arena in which to build character and team dynamics. Jesus often taught His followers as they travelled from town to town, using the environment around Him to convey truth. Whether it’s your elders board, family ministry, leadership team, or other group, we can create a custom event with challenges and discussions to foster relationship and personal growth in the classroom of creation.
DISCLAIMER!
We want to give you as much information as we can as you consider contacting us about planning a trip. However, we do not have all the background pieces in place to start running trips yet. If you would like to stay in the loop on when those will be available, contact us to let us know, or check back here from time-to-time. If this information is gone, we are in full swing!
What to Expect
Group trips can take a variety of forms. Maybe you want to get out with your family, and begin developing a routine of spending focused time together. Maybe you have a leadership team that you would like to do some team building with. Maybe you are looking for a creative way to bless your elder’s board. If you are wondering if some time in God’s creation might be a benefit to you and your group, give us a shout and we’ll see what we can put together. Whatever the case, expect to be transformed!

This is when we will get into the nitty gritty of a group trip. You will join in some activities designed to draw out the ways you live in and think about the world you inhabit, and then to process those insights so you can grow as a team and as an individual.
-
Hike back to the trailhead.
-
Food seems to be the great connector of people. Sit back after a day of hiking, fill your belly, and we’ll talk through how God spoke with you and how you can translate that into your everyday life. (Food is covered in the cost of the trip.)

Restore Outdoors is aimed at serving the Church and her various ministry arms (ie. pastors, missionaries, and other ministry workers), as well as the congregations and clientele of those churches and ministries. While we can consider doing youth trips, we realized that there are few outdoor ministry programs available to adults, but many youth camps with a variety of outdoor programs available throughout Alberta and Canada. As such, adult or family events will be given priority over youth specific trips.

We try to choose a route that suits your skill level. We want as many people as possible to be able to enjoy getting into the backcountry. However, all backcountry travel can have sections where the trail gets harder. There is no rush! There will likely be challenging parts, but that often leads to a greater sense of accomplishment.

First and foremost, Jesus himself made a habit of heading out to the wilderness to fellowship with the Father. If he thought it was valuable, I think we can trust him. Our world is full of busyness and distractions, and research shows again and again that making a habit of getting outside has numerous benefits in and of itself. Seems we may have been meant to get outside.
-
Currently we are operating in Alberta only. We plan trips in the Kananaskis Provincial Park as well as in the Nordegg area.

The reality of spending time outdoors is that good weather is no guarantee. That does not, however, mean we can’t have a good trip. If the weather is truly too dangerous for us to be out and about in, we can reschedule or try and find a new route last minute. However, a little rain, wind, or snow can add some adventure and even beauty to your trip. As long as the weather allows for safe travel, we can head out.
